sci-fi “4th of” – Terminator Salvation The Machinima…

Aaaaaaaaahhh! Love the 4th! “Terminator Salvation The Machinima” is wonderful and contains all the important elements to make this month’s list: entertaining, unique, fascinating, sci-fi, artistic, creative, clever, fun, scary, full of action, turns out to be somewhat of a love story and of course, girls kicking ass! Against robots nonetheless…

Terminator Salvation The Machinima” is a CGI action six-part machinima series developed by Warner Bros as a prequel to the Terminator Salvation film that centers on Blair Williams (voiced by Moon Bloodgood), who in 2016 is a soldier in the human resistance against the machines. Before she met John Connor and Marcus Wright, Blair had been searching for a hacker known as “The Ghost,” who has little trouble tapping into Skynet’s servers.

While the Terminator series focuses on Connor and his role in the resistance, The Machinima series looks at how the other surviving humans reacted to their near decimation at the hands of the machines. The human race could only take so much before taking up arms and fighting back, developing pockets of army troops and an underground communication channel. The series reveals Blair’s journey from the nuclear holocaust to her role in the Terminator Salvation Terminator Salvation movie.

Utilizing machinima (the use of real-time, 3-D graphics rendering to generate computer animation) the series is based on the game engine from the Terminator Salvation video game. Machinima was introduced in January 2000 by Hugh Hancock of Strange Company and helped to bring attention to the art of creating animated videos in real-time virtual 3-D environments, and encouraged productions based on game engines other than those of id Software’s first-person shooter computer game series Quake.

Oh, and as I’m a fan of the arts, check out the independent music score by Sweden’s Erik Thunberg & Simon Viklund
