To alleviate my guilt, shame, deal with my fetish (which one was that?) and provide me with a productive outlet for my awkwardness, I officially designate the 4th as my sci-fi post day!

Every “4th of” I get one sci-fi post. If I miss the 4th I have to wait for the next turn in 30(ish). Don’t fret, I’ll otherwise continue dedicating my energy to the usual on a normal basis; shoes, clothes, health, shoes, beauty, life, love, shoes, etc… and shoes! With that in mind, ahhhhhh, here I go….

Girls, kicking ass against vampires… What’s better? Well, girls kicking ass against aliens but who’s counting? Back on track I give you 2007’s “Rise: Blood Hunter” starring Lucy Liu. Very dark, very cool and lots of Lucy Liu kicking vampire-ass! This is an artistic stretch for her and it comes off pretty nicely…

Rise: Blood Hunter is a 2007 neo-noir action/horror film written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez. The film stars Lucy Liu and Michael Chiklis; a supernatural thriller about a reporter (Liu) who wakes up in a morgue to discover she is now a vampire. She vows revenge against the vampire cult responsible for her situation and hunts them down one by one. Chiklis plays “Rawlins,” a haunted police detective whose daughter is victimized by the same group and seeks answers for her gruesome death. The film co-stars Carla Gugino as Eve, James D’Arcy as Bishop and Marilyn Manson is the Bartender…
